The #1500 is an all-around stud size for most surf fishing applications.
The #1800 is longer, and works very well for fishing in the boulder fields of Montauk, Cuttyhunk, and similar locations where rocks are covered in bubble weed.
The #3000A is great for boots that have a thinner tread where you might be worried about the auger poking through, while still retaining a fair amount of prominence. This is a good size for Jetty fishing with moss covered rocks and river fishing.
The #3000B is the best size to choose if you're worried about the auger "poking through" on boots that have thin soles, and for less demanding applications where there is less "bubble weed" involved. This is a great size for fishing jetty rocks coated in moss and in rocky rivers.
