Mare’s Tail (Hippuris vulgaris)
Mare's tail is a creeping aquatic found in shallow water. It roots underwater, but most of its leaves are above the water surface. The leaves occur in whorls; both above water and under water. In shallow water they project 10-12ins out of the water. The flowers are inconspicuous, and not all plants produce them.
